The company behind Dwelo.

Taeco Aether is a small, independent product company in Mumbai. We build the apps people lean on in the years between leaving home and feeling at home: a campus, a city, a first flat.

One line, three stops so far.

Each product followed the same person a little further from home: a campus canteen, a campus feed, a first flat in Mumbai. The current stop gets all of our attention.

    Order ahead on campus

Where the name and the mango come from. A campus food pickup app: order ahead from the eateries on campus and collect without the queue. It taught us how a student actually spends a day, and that the ordinary problems are the ones worth solving.

    Your campus, unfiltered

An anonymous, location-based community feed for college students. Post, vote and talk with the people around you without a profile attached to your name. It taught us how carefully identity, privacy and safety have to be handled when the users are young and the stakes are real.

Why a company, not just an app.

Every product we have made serves one person at one moment: the student who moved into a hostel, the first-year who wants to know what the campus is really saying, the 23-year-old with a job offer and nowhere to live in Andheri.

That person keeps moving. So the company has to be the thing that lasts, and the products are the stops along the way. Taeco is the name we started with. Aether is the layer above all of it: the entity that owns the products, holds the responsibility, and keeps the standard the same from one stop to the next.

We are independent and we are small on purpose. One city done properly beats ten done poorly. Free stays free where it matters. And we build from here: we are from Mumbai, our office is in Mumbai, and the problems we pick are the ones we have lived.

What we do not compromise on.

The person moving in comes first.
Not the landlord, not the broker, not the algorithm, not the advertiser. Every product decision starts with the person who has to live with the outcome.
One city done properly.
We would rather be unmistakably useful in Mumbai than vaguely present in ten cities. Depth first; the map grows when the first city earns it.
Free where it should be free.
Finding a flatmate on Dwelo is free and stays free. We do not sell the basics back to the people we built them for.
Built from here.
We are from Mumbai. We know what a two-hour commute means, and what it is to pay a broker ₹40,000 for one phone call. We build for that reality, not a borrowed one.

Working at Taeco

A small team, a real problem, and a city you can go stand in. Everyone ships. Everyone talks to users. Nobody hides behind process.

A note from the founder

“We built Dwelo because we lived the problem: matched on budget and location, moved in, and found out three weeks later that we kept completely different hours. Nobody’s fault. A completely preventable mismatch.”

Taeco Aether exists so that the next thing we build starts from the same place: the person moving in, not the person extracting value from them along the way. If that sounds like how you want to work, write to me.
